I’ve just been given access to Google’s Bard AI chatbot, and so dug in with my first question.
Here it is:
“I’m interested in copywriting and everything to do with making money through writing sales copy. What is your best advice?”
Before we see what Bard came up with, it’s important to realise that all current AI machines use the past to come up with new stuff.
In other words, they lack imagination (although Google tells me the more I feed Bard, the more it learns about me and the topics I’m interested in).
Here’s Bard’s reply:

Here are some tips on how to make money through writing sales copy:
1. Learn the basics of copywriting. Copywriting is the art of writing persuasive text that sells products or services. It’s a valuable skill that can help you earn money in a variety of ways.
2. Practice your copywriting skills. The best way to become a better copywriter is to practice. Write sales copy for your own products or services, or write copy for other businesses. The more you practice, the better you’ll become at writing copy that converts.
3. Network with other copywriters. There are many online and offline communities where you can connect with other copywriters. Networking with other copywriters can help you learn new skills, get feedback on your work, and find potential clients
4. Build a portfolio of your work. A portfolio is a collection of your best work. It can be a website, a blog, or a document that you can share with potential clients. Having a strong portfolio will help you stand out from the competition and attract new clients.
5. Market your services. Once you have a portfolio of your work, you need to market your services to potential clients. There are many ways to market your services, such as online advertising, cold calling, and networking.

There’s nothing wrong with any of the above with the exception of one thing. It’s boring.
And that’s vitally important for all of us. Until AI learns how to imagine, it will never replace a good writer.
But there’s a lot more to this, and it fits perfectly with the stuff I’ve been working on for the last 6 years (in particular, SEO).
I’ll expand on that over the next couple of weeks, as well as the results I’ve been getting working with the UK’s largest private hospital group.
This is going to benefit all ICA members.
